When in the city, tune into Old Fort Radio 1640 AM or go to our Facebook page for information on our upcoming events.
The Old Fort is located on public park grounds. You can always wander around the grounds. However, the buildings are only open during events. There is a brochure available at the front gate with information about the history of the Old Fort. It explains how each building would have been used. Check here for a list of upcoming events. You can also view our Virtual Tour to learn more about the use of the grounds.
During the Summer the Fort will be open Tues. – Sat. from 10 – 6 and Sundays from noon – 6, with tours available.
We are located at 1201 Spy Run Avenue. The Old Fort is right over the bridge as you head north from downtown on Spy Run Avenue.
Note: The bridge on Spy Run Avenue is under construction and is often down to one or two lanes. Expect traffic delays when visiting the Old Fort. Parking is available at Headwaters Park and in the lot across from the Old Fort on Spy Run Avenue. Please use extreme caution when crossing Spy Run Avenue.
Parking can be found in the following locations:
- At Headwaters Park. Use the bridge to access the fort.
- At Lawton Park. Use the bike path/trail to access the fort. (This option is currently not available. The bike path/trail is closed due to damage on the bridge over Spy Run Creek.)
- In the lot across from the Old Fort on Spy Run Ave. (Please use extreme caution when crossing Spy Run Avenue.)
