When in the city be sure to tune into Old Fort Radio 1640 AM to hear about our upcoming events and learn about Fort Wayne’s past.
We are excited to announce summer hours for 2021!
The Fort will be open for tours Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sundays 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm from June 2nd through August 1st. Come out on a weekend to talk to the soldiers about their daily lives in the fort. On Thursdays, experience a local craftsperson at work. Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated. Large groups are asked to call ahead and schedule a tour. Call (260) 437-2836 with any questions.
The Old Fort is located on public park grounds. You can always wander around the grounds. However, the buildings are only open during events when we have volunteers on site. There is a 2020 Event Schedule available at the front gate with information about the history of the fort. It explains how each building would have been used, and includes a schedule for upcoming events. You can also view our Virtual Tour to learn more about the use of the grounds.
We are located at 1201 Spy Run Avenue. The Fort is right over the bridge as you head north from downtown on Spy Run.
Parking can be found in the following locations:
- On Fourth Street between Spy Run Avenue and Clinton Street
- At Headwaters Park across the river from the Fort.
If you are visiting from out of town, Fort Wayne offers a wide variety of activities and dining experiences. You can find more information at Visit Fort Wayne.
