When in the city, tune into Old Fort Radio 1640 AM or go to our Facebook page for information on our upcoming events.
We are excited to announce summer hours for 2022!
During the summer, the Fort will be open for tours Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sundays 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Watch here for more details and our starting date.
The Old Fort is located on public park grounds. You can always wander around the grounds. However, the buildings are only open during events. There is a brochure available at the front gate with information about the history of the fort. It explains how each building would have been used. Check here for a list of upcoming events. You can also view our Virtual Tour to learn more about the use of the grounds.
We are located at 1201 Spy Run Avenue. The Fort is right over the bridge as you head north from downtown on Spy Run.
Note: The bridge on Spy Run Avenue is under construction and is often down to one lane. Expect traffic delays when visiting the Old Fort. For the safety of our visitors, we strongly encourage you to park at Headwaters Park or Lawton Park. Otherwise, please use extreme caution when crossing Spy Run Avenue. Construction is expected to last until the end of the year.
Parking can be found in the following locations:
- At Headwaters Park. Use the bridge to access the Fort.
- At Lawton Park. Use the bike path to access the Fort.
- In the lot across from the Fort on Spy Run Ave. Use the Rivergreenway Trail under the Spy Run bridge to access the Fort.
