An 1814 Napoleonic French Garrison will occupy the Old Fort this Saturday. Set one month before the 1814 Siege of Bergen-Op-Zoom, this event aims to recreate the life of a soldier during the desperate final chapters of Napoleon’s empire. Fresh conscripts will spend the day in military drills and exercises in preparation to repulse a larger and more experienced British force.
Come talk with the soldiers. Observe daily life in a military post. Spend time exploring the grounds and buildings of the newly restored Old Fort.
